 4 days to go! Unbelievable! It is finally almost time…this is a very emotional time for me. Trying not to worry (how is Mila going to do on the plane? How long will she grieve for her foster mom? I hope I have everything. Will we get any sleep for the next month? etc.) and [...] 6 days to go. WIP. I hope to finish this before she gets here. I’d like to make some other fabric banners to decorate for her homecoming. We’ll see how much I can finish up. Need list: 1. upstairs baby gate 2. bath tub ring 3. fruit/veg baby food Baby bazaar is in Gaithersburg [...] I am sure you have all heard by now and if not I so sorry! Mila is coming home next Wed! We just got the phone call today. I can’t believe it. I think I am in shock and terribly, terribly excited! We are so very happy and READY. I need to put a list [...] None. Our social worker called last night and as soon as I saw the 410 area code my heart began to race…BUT, she just wanted to invite me to tonight’s meeting. Oh dear! We are at 4.5 mos. now (of waiting since referral). Mila just turned 10 months old yesterday. The call will come any [...] I wish I had one. It has been more than 4 months since we got our referral. Still no news of Mila’s arrival. The last couple of people I saw speak about their babies coming home (recently) said it took 4.5 and the other 5.5 mos. That means any time now. Really only another month [...] Our social worker just called with an update. Mila is 21 lbs at 8 1/2 mos. (91%). Margie asked if I was lifting weights. I laughed, she said “No, really. It will be hard on your back.” I said I would start right away! She is developmentally 9+ mos. She is healthy. All is well. [...] Mila was 20lbs and 28in at her 7 month check up. She turned 8 mos on March 3. I went to a CC meeting last week and the babies that have come home over the last month took 4.5-5.5 mos after referral to come home. It was quite a shock. I think my mouth actually [...] OK, so here are the beauty clothes I found: (left to right) Carter’s orange polka dot pants 18 mos 2.49 (H, I bought pants!), Gymboree strawberry leggings 2t $3, Gymboree 18 mos white shirt with Strawberries and yellow bloomers $5. 3 dresses 2t 3t. $ 2.49-5.49. LOVE the smocked one! This blue one is Carter’s [...] OK, so it dawned on me that Mila is 20 lbs! Most of the clothes I currently have are going to be too small! Ahhhhhh!!! I had bought a couple of 6-12 months things (which probably are not going to work now). But most are 12 months (and my dear friend H was so kind [...] Our orphan immigration paper work was approved. This is the paperwork that I was concerned about because last week they said that they had just begun to process it…It is here and the address was corrected! YAY! Our social worker said that this paper work is often ready before the baby is ready to leave [...] |
