Beauty Bed Pic
Thursday, May 6th, 2010I really need to put this pic here so that I don’t lose it.

**This pic is from a French inspired blog I like called Trouvais**
I have been looking for a new direction for my bed linens for a long time. I LOVE to have a pretty bed. But in the 4.5 years we have lived in this house, I have not had any new inspiration for my bed. I used to buy new bed sheets/duvet for every holiday. I was always saving up for something new for my bed (I was really into shabby chic/vintage style). I’ll make my bed and then take a pic of what it looks like now. Let this serve as a warning: it is not terribly exciting. I think the above pic includes Belle Notte linens…which I always seem to love (Trouvais refers to this brand a lot and I always love the pics). I think making my bed, and loving bed linens just comes from my love of fabric. I love fabric/textiles old and new. I love interesting color combinations of fabrics. This has sort of a French bohemian look that I really love. The colors are pink, French blue and gold (these are my favorite right now along with white and gray). Now how do I achieve a similar look on a small budget?
A blog that I like does a “bookcase of the day” post a lot. I think I should do a “bed of the day” segment here.
I watched this yesterday…

I liked it,but didn’t crazy love it. I think I was mostly inspired by the clothes she was wearing before she was famous. She would take her boyfriend’s clothes and cut them up and wear them in a new way. I guess I am still really inspired by old menswear…ever since I watched the movie Little Ashes that is.
I am sick and hanging out in bed…hence all the posts tonight.

From The Paris Apartment Boutique. I love these. Very beautiful and very expensive. I am loving all things old and French these days.

I adore these old sheets (Ralph Lauren from TJ Maxx or Marshalls, a long time ago). I just think the print is so sweet and very Marie Antoinette. I put these french blue ties on…not that they match…it just upped the Antoinette-ness somehow.
