My birthday

Saturday, September 15th, 2012

Breakfast:  Berries with honey and cream.

Dinner:  Moby Dick kabobs for the grownups and Five guys for the kids.

Dessert:  Whole Foods pastries

New cookbooks from H.

A lovely robin egg blue Ikea cart from Granzie and Auntie H.  I can’t believe I didn’t take a pic when it was set up!

Ebay-ed this Boden wallet with bday money from Grams.

I replaced my cheap etsy LOVE pillowcases with the real thing.  Thanks Darling!

New dress from the JCrew outlet that I picked out from Darling.  It reminds me of a Joan (from Mad Men) dress!

New Boden sweater (on sale from Spring) that I picked out from Darling.

A berry pink pencil skirt from JCrew (on sale plus an additional 30%, fabulous!) with my bday money from Grams.

And I had a lovely weekend trip to see my sis and nephews from my parents.  I left my phone at home so I don’t have pics…just lovely memories :)

And N got me 2 lovely shirts and my favorite panties!

Holy cow!  No wonder I love my birthday :)  Thank you so so much to my family and friends.  It was a nice day spent with Darling and the kids (Christian took the day off).  AND I love all my treats!

Mother’s Day

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

Mother’s Day flowers from my mom and dad.  My favorite colors!  Thank you :)

Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp

For the fruit:

2 boxes strawberries

4 stalks rhubarb

1/4 c flour

3/4 c honey

For the crisp:

1 stick butter

1/2 c flour

1/2 c brown sugar

1 c oats

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

Bake at 400 deg for 35-45 mins.  Inspired by Martha’s rhubarb crisp recipe (of course).

Valentine’s Day craft

Monday, February 20th, 2012

Mila did this fun craft with a sweet friend and then I made the boys make some too.  I guess they are not finished yet but I’ll show you anyway.  I still have to write their names and date around the outside.  This outline will make it look more like a heart I think.  I might even frame them.

Valentine’s Day was my 15th survival anniversary.  It was good.  Mila and I had lunch at the co-op and we had my favorite Tara Thai takeout for dinner.  Oh and I made molten chocolate baby cakes on the spur of the moment.  So yummy.  Lovely day for a Tuesday.  I am quite thankful I made it this far :)

Christmas day

Monday, December 26th, 2011

Potato, onion, sausage fritata with croissants and smoothie for breakfast.

Christmas dinner table.  We ate at about 8pm.  It was laid back.

The boys set the table.  It was so pretty.

Crab cakes, asparagus and baked potato.  Pretty easy and delicious.

Nigella’s chocolate hot pots for dessert.
