Last Saturday was in the 60′s! It was so beautiful. We actually managed an outing with the kids (It seems like a while since we’ve done this). We had never been to Ellicott City. It was fun to walk around and look at the little shops. We had lunch at a brewery. Darling and I had fish and chips. It was so nice. I suggested we try and do one local cute town a month. We don’t have to do lunch each time. We could just do ice cream or a coffee place for snacks. It is hard to remember to take pictures when the five of us are out. Next time, I will do better.
On the way way home I made Christian take a detour to Jessup. There is a thrift shop out that way called Teen Challenge. I saw it in my “Dirt Cheap, Real Good” book. It also made a top ten list of Maryland thrift shops (actually that may have been from the book’s author). Anyway, it was a disappointment. It did have a lot of furniture. Not much better than the stuff at Goodwill though (bad junk). They had a few vintage pieces right when you walked in and they were more expensive. They had a couple of vintage couches that were almost cute but something was a little off. Although, if we were just starting out and didn’t have a couch…I would prefer one of these to a futon (which was actually our first couch). They were in an off white fabric and in decent condition. If it was closer and I could stop by frequently to see how often they get in new stuff…it might be worth going back. But is is so far! I managed to find one item in the entire store.
It is a magazine rack. I have been looking for one. I paid $3.71 for it. I know it is pretty ugly right now, but it is sturdy and has some cute, curvy lines. I think it will be nice painted. Darling said he will spray it for me. What color do you think we should do it?
