 Nora and I had a lot of fun thrifting on Saturday. This is one of my purchases ($6/3 knives) from the Thrift Shop for the Blind in Kensington. They are porcelain handled, brass, fruit(?) knives. They are marked “Bohemia” on the brass. Does that mark mean they are Czech? They are so pretty! I [...] Last Saturday was in the 60′s! It was so beautiful. We actually managed an outing with the kids (It seems like a while since we’ve done this). We had never been to Ellicott City. It was fun to walk around and look at the little shops. We had lunch at a [...] I found pink Margarita glasses. I thought they were more of the 1960′s glasses that I buy every year at this sale, but they are slightly different. Still pretty. I have never in my life had a margarita, but now maybe I will! Can you stand it? I got two of these plates. [...] It is hard to be inspired when you are fighting off Lyme. But I am doing my best to feel inspired again. I have to eat lots of chocolate and drink lots of coffee My doctor has recommended b-12 injections. My vitamin levels are all off and they found the MTHRFR genetic [...] Here are today’s treasures. A platter marked Czechoslovakia. And a long bowl that I am going to put on my dresser to hold my pretty hair things (I think). Total spent? $13. I have a weakness for pretty china! Platter: It almost has a hand painted quality. The flowers look more like water [...] Cath Kidston pillow cases from ebay! Yippie! I am thinking these will look great with my big blankie! I am so close to finishing! I am already dreaming of it’s coziness! I know it is a little bit weird. That is why we liked it (Darling came with garage sale-ing last Sat, so fun!). It is an aluminum table base for $10. We have been looking for a large outside table for the back yard. I think it is 60′s? It is kind of Seussical [...] Mila already has this Gap coat in a 2T. I bought it used from ebay (they go for close to $20!) I LOVE this coat. I love the colors. I LOVE a Fair Isle pattern! And it was $5 at the thrift shop in Mt Airy for this 4T so I got it. The [...] Last weekend’s thrifting. St Ignatius had their sale starting Fri (it is almost all junk). I purchased the purple tin and vintage glass pitcher. total spent there was $1.50. Oh wait the kids picked out a couple things for another 50 cents. So total was $2. I went to the Gaithersburg outdoor flea market [...] I went down to the Rummage Sale at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Rt 28 in North Potomac. They advertised this one as a yard sale so it was difficult to figure out what time it started. (7am). I got there at 8am…it was really bad. There were a few cute clothes [...] |
